  • NFL Films place Nate Carter's journey in top 10 for national story contest

  • After submitting one of the most inspirational stories in a national contest presented by the NFL called “Together We Make Football,” the journey of Hope native Nate Carter has been chosen in the top 10 among over 5,000 entires in the nation. Thousands shared stories telling why they love football in a contest to win a trip to Super Bowl XLVIII. They chose ten finalists, now it's up to america to choose the winners. Watch their stories, vote for your favorite and help make their dreams come true. Nate being a finalist for the Together We Make Football – Your Story contest makes his story so amazing and a blessing, which only few select are able to overcome severe illnesses. The 10 finalists was announced over the Thanksgiving holiday with a :30 second montage spot revealing all finalist. Their spot first aired during halftime of the Packers-Lions game on FOX. The :30 second commercial aired again during halftime of the Raiders-Cowboys game on CBS and then early in the fourth quarter of the Steelers- Ravens game on NBC. During those times, the three minute NFL Films video on Nate was available to view on www.TogetherWeMakeFootball.com and fans can vote on the story. Nate's three minute documentary features footage of his last football game with the Hope Bobkittens battling De Queen on November 5 at Hammons Stadium. NFL Films production made the trip to the Watermelon Capital of the World of Hope. They [NFL Films] shot several scenes of the game, Nate performing at quarterback and the Bobkittens, all fans in the stands at Hammons Stadium, his parents Anthony and Bitsy Carter cheering for their son and the team. Nate, along head coach Ricky Rhodes and parents' Bitsy and Anthony were mic during the game action, for sound bites for the documentary. Nate's documentary explains his illness and scenes of him in the Children's Hospital in Little Rock. Also, interviews with mom – Bitsy and dad – Anthony “A.C.” share their son's journey through all the treatments, rehab and express how blessed and proud of Nate overcoming his illness and achievements thus far. Emotional through their interview, Bitsy and Anthony shed tears of joy and happiness to know all what they've endured through this experience with their son, they're more than appreciative of the community support and how Nate's progressed. Then of course, spotlight shining star Nate share's his journey and this amazing experience. In his final football game this season, Nate had one of the incredible performances to complete four touchdown passes to the end zone and will the Bobkittens past De Queen 40-24 making this victory a win to remember. The contest is still open for fans to vote for their favorite story through December 23 National campaign to culminate in NFL Films documentary and once-in-a-lifetime trip to Super Bowl for the five winners.
