I still didn't believe it when my daughter told me." - Georgia Lottery President Debbie Alford, quoting Ira Curry, one of two winners in the $648 million Mega Millions jackpot. Curry will collect $173 million for taking the cash option. The other winner hasn’t stepped forward yet.

    News to know

    There will be no government shutdown this time. The Senate today voted to approve a compromise federal budget that the House approved last week, and President Barack Obama has said he will sign it. That’s a big change from October, when the government was shut down for half the month.
