Puppies, kittens, and cats available at the Heber Springs Humane Society
Love is one of the easiest and most satisfying emotions we can experience and that loving bond between a person and their pet is a wonderfully unique thing. Pets show unconditional love in a way that is virtually impossible to get anywhere else. In showing this love and loyalty, they put their ultimate trust people to take care of them and love them in return. Unfortunately, there are many pets that have been abandoned or abused or find themselves alone for a host of other reasons. In a continuing effort to provide caring homes for deserving pets, the Heber Springs Humane Society and The Sun-Times have teamed up to showcase a featured pet.
Our featured pets of the week are puppies and kittens (and a cat or two). Right now, Heber Springs Humane Society is having a half-price sale on puppies and kittens: the adoption fee is $25. If the puppy or kitten has been sponsored, the adoption fee is $15. The pictures shown in this column are only a small sample of the adorable puppies and kittens available. Please come by and make your selection.
We also wish to express our gratitude for the people who have left donations for the Humane Society in the donations boxes around town, and those who have brought their donations to the Thrift Shop. Throughout 2013, our community has supported our shelter in so many ways—by their donations, sponsorships, and participation in fund raisers. We also have our volunteers who have worked in the thrift shop, taken dogs and cats to veterinarian appointments and for transport to new forever homes, worked with our dogs and cats at the shelter, and fostered animals that needed some socializing before they adopted out. So many have used their unique abilities to help us take care of our animals. Lee Wallace has taken most of the pictures showcased in this column and on the Facebook Page. We at the Heber Springs Humane Society are deeply grateful to all of you.
