Beats me.

Seems to me Brown would have a better shot against Markey in Mass. than Shaheen in New Hampshire.  Markey has a lot of vulnerabilities Elizabeth Warren didn’t have – the long record, the charisma deficit, the old white pol vibe.  Brown has the organization here. He knows the landscape.

Instead, he’s choosing to go to New Hampshire, shoving aside some ambitious Granite State Republicans, carrying a carpet-bagger label.

Maybe he’s been pushed by the Republican Senate Campaign Committee to do this.  Maybe he’s got polls that show he’s got a better shot up north, and the big-money guys figure Shaheen is more vulnerable than Markey, and they want to put their money, and their slickest candidate, where it can do the most good.  But it sure seems strange to me.
