  • Rose Bud plated three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and held tight in the seventh to rally past Mount Vernon-Enola 7-6 on Monday in season opener for both clubs in Rose Bud.

  • Rose Bud plated three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and held tight in the seventh to rally past Mount Vernon-Enola 7-6 on Monday in season opener for both clubs in Rose Bud.
    Down 6-4, Blake Ferrell led off the sixth with a single to left field. With two outs, Tyler Weatherley reached on an error and Tyler Bell walked to keep the inning alive for cleanup hitter Dylan Moore, who drove home Ferrell with an RBI single to right field.
    Blaed Matthews followed with a 2 RBI double to left field, scoring Weatherley and Bell before MVE escaped further damage.
    In relief of Bell, Rose Bud slammed the door in the top of the seventh with Andrew Adcock on the mound.
    MVE’s Bailey Patrom reached on a one-out error and stole second but Adcock retired the next two, ending the game with a strikeout.
    The visiting Warhawks took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first as Keeton McEntire drew a full-count walk and scored, Hunter Barden tripled and scored and Bailey Patrom was hit by a pitch and made it all the way around.
    Rose Bud scratched across one run on two hits in the bottom half. Following a single to center field off the bat of Hunter Bell, Moore delivered an RBI single to left field.
    MVE added an insurance run in the top half of the fourth, but Rose Bud countered with two runs on one hit in the bottom half as Ferrell and Skylar Baker each walked and scored on a 2 RBI single by Turner Moon.
    Bell (2 for 2) and Moore (2 for 4) led Rose Bud’s offensive attack, while Ferrell, Weatherley, Matthews and Moon each contributed one hit.
