  • West Side pitchers Hayden Gilmore and Bryce Hipp handcuffed Wonderview, holding the Daredevils to one hit while combining for 10 strikeouts in the Eagles’ 6-1 victory on Monday in Greers Ferry.
“Good to get a win after a two-week layoff,” said West Side coach Shane Davis. “Hayden and Bryce did a great job throwing strikes, pitching to contact and we were pretty solid in the field. We left too many on, didn't execute in some situations but that was expected with the time off. Hopefully by next Monday at home against South Side we can put a whole game together.”
Gilmore tossed the first four innings, striking out six without giving up a hit. Hipp took over from there, limiting the Daredevils to only one hit and one run while striking out four over the final three frames.
Blaine “Pepper” Hipp ( 2 for 4) paced West Side at the plate with 3 RBI and one run. Gilmore ( 2 for 3) also had two hits. Brandon Carr and Kory Johnson each finished 1 for 3. Carr drove home a run and Johnson scored a run.
David Brown and Bryce Hipp each scored two runs for West Side, which improved to 6-0.
