  • Heber Springs beat North Pulaski twice (9-1, 9-4) on Saturday to win the Jae Lynn  Memorial Tournament at Dupree Park in Jacksonville.
    Chase Vines pitched all five innings in the first game, holding the Falcons to only two hits and one earned run while striking out five.
    Tyler Dennis and Pierce Mitchum ignited Heber’s offensive. Dennis finished 2 for 3 with two singles and an RBI and Pierce Mitchum was 2 for 3 with a single, double and three stolen bases. Hunter Chandler (1 for 3), Conner Lindsey (1 for 3) and Tyler Moss (1 for 3) each contributed 2 RBI for the Panthers.
    In the second game, four Panthers recorded two hits, including Dillion Moore (2 for 3 with two stolen bases), Mitchum (2 for 4 with four stolen bases), Chandler Marquardt (2 for 3 with a stolen base) and Lindsey (2 for 4 with a stolen base and RBI).
    Michael Kramer (1 for 2) added 2 RBI, while Dennis (1 for 3 with stolen base) and Chandler (1 for 3) each drove home one run.
    Chandler also picked up the win on the hill, allowing three earned runs while scattering four hits with one strikeout. Moore pitched the fourth and gave up one run with one strikeout. Kramer closed out the game, striking out one while pitching around two hits as the Panthers improved to 8-8 on the season.
