On Monday, April 14, the Quitman School District held a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Quitman Bulldog Complex.
On Monday, April 14, the Quitman School District held a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Quitman Bulldog Complex. The new facility will provide the district with ample space for any program presented; band, choir, drama, community events, basketball games and graduation. The project also includes an area that the patrons of the community can utilize for indoor walking. The ceremony was attended by several past school board members, administrators and faculty. Distinguished guest speakers were Dr. Tom Kimbrell, Commissioner of the Arkansas Department of Education and Mrs. Missy Irvin, State Senator.
Participating in the groundbreaking were Quitman School Board members: President Susan Johnson, Vice-President Randy Bridges, Secretary Sherry Davis, Casey Trawick and Julie Varvil, Superintendent Rhonda Bradford, Commissioner of the Arkansas Department of Education Dr. Tom Kimbrell, Senator Missy Irvin, Student Council President John David Ward, Architect Steve Elliot, Robert Moser of Moser Construction and Jay Davis, job foreman.
The new facility is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2015.
