A Heber Springs business, a local Boy Scout troop and a candidate for state senate are organizing efforts to aid in the recovery and rebuilding of central Arkansas following Sunday’s deadly storms.

Industrial Power Incorporated (IPI) will have a trailer at the Quitman library to collect donated items for victims.

Boy Scout Troop 754 is also collecting items for those affected by Sunday’s storms. Residents may drop off bottled water, hand sanitizer, diapers, personal hygiene products, gloves, trash bags, blankets, baby wipes and other needed items at The Computer Guy of Heber Springs, located at 105 N. Third St. The troop will deliver the items to the Red Cross drop areas.

J. Tyler Pearson, a candidate for state Senate District 35, announced Monday morning that his campaign luncheon fundraiser will only be accepting donations to aid storm victims. The luncheon is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday at La Huerta Mexican Restaurant in Conway. Campaign officials will be on site collecting clothing, blankets, non-perishable food items, bottled water, baby items, personal hygiene products, pet food and plastic storage totes. Monetary donations will go to the Red Cross.
