  • Information received by investigators with the Heber Springs Police Department let to the arrest of Spencer Goudy (21) of Heber Springs.   According to police reports, police received information early in May that a report was filed indicating Goudy may have had sexual relations with a child under the age of 14.  Arkansas State Crimes against Children was notified and Heber detectives launched an investigation into the incident, which eventually led to the arrest of Goudy on May 28th.

According to reports obtained from the Heber Springs Police Department, Goudy has been the subject of allegations involving sexual conduct with minors in the past, though no formal charges were filed in the incidents.  In July 2010, Goudy was named as a minor in an allegation of sexual indecency involving a then 15-year-old girl.  In June 2012, Goudy, then 19, was again named in an allegation involving sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl, though no formal charges were brought against him in this case.

Along with the sexual indecency with a minor allegation, Goudy was named in at least two allegations over the past two years involving allegations of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

While investigators move forward with the most recent allegation and compile further information regarding the case, much of the current information regarding the current charges against Goudy have been sealed to protect the identity of the victim in the case and also to avoid anything that might hamper the efforts of an ongoing investigation.

Goudy has been formally charged with rape/sexual intercourse with a child under 14.  His bond was set at $200,000 and he was released from the Cleburne County Detention Center after the bond was posted.  His first arraignment date is set for June 10th.
