“Rarely does anyone step into a community and leave a footprint, especially as large as the one left by Libby Jackson of Heber Springs.   Libby, married to Jerry Jackson for 60 years, is the mother of four children, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, moved to Heber Springs and Eden Isle in 1986 after her husband’s retirement as CFO of Touché Ross & Company.    Both members of the First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs, Libby volunteers for “Breakin’ Bread” soup kitchen helping to feed those in need of a meal.  She delights in her assignment at Cleburne County Cares as she works with the donated books and loves the interaction with the wonderful people who also volunteer their time.

In the past, Libby has served as President of the Cleburne County Hospital Board, which led to her becoming a member of the Foundation Board at Baptist Health Medical Center, Heber Springs.   Libby and her husband are also avid supporters of the recently opened Cleburne County -Mary Wold Library and consider both the local hospital and the library as “gems” of the community.   Libby once served as President of the Cleburne County Republican Women and Treasurer of the Arkansas Federation of Republican Women.  She continues to be an active member of both organizations today.

Libby loves the area and being part of our community.  Although her family lives in Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, and Budapest, Hungary, they always enjoy their visit to Heber Springs.  Libby’s interests include reading, gardening, golfing, quilting, and singing.   As a member of the Eden Song Chorale since its inception, you might hear her sweet voice singing.

You can be sure, whatever you see Libby Jackson doing she will be doing it with the utmost grace and style.    Although she was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, she is the epitome of what a Southern Lady is thought to be.   She’s sweet, kind, intelligent, giving, and beautiful – She’s a Lady.”
