Conquering food addictions
He was once again on PBS during their fundraising event last weekend. Joel Fuhrman is still promoting his lifesaving diet with his encouraging message. It is especially interesting now because a young woman in Heber Springs has proven the success of his way of eating. She has lost 55 pounds since January, feels great and wants to help others do the same. Within a few weeks she will be starting a support group to help those seeking better health through good food.
Who is this guy who is running around telling people what to eat? Joel Fuhrman M.D. is a board-certified family physician, NY Times best-selling author of seven books on nutrition and health. He specializes in preventing and reversing disease through nutritional and natural methods. He is an internationally recognized expert on nutrition and natural healing, and has appeared on hundreds of radio and television shows including the Dr. Oz show, the Today Show, Good Morning America, and Live with Kelly. Dr. Fuhrman's own hugely successful PBS television shows, "3 Steps to Incredible Health" and "Dr. Fuhrman's Immunity Solution" bring nutritional science to homes all across America.
If you want to be excited about life because you feel good, consider joining Kathy Phillips and her group which will help you pass up the junk and fast foods that are imprisoning you with poor health and perhaps excess weight. Your quality of life will improve when you improve the quality of the food you eat.
In our world that is covered up in processed empty calorie foods it is difficult to go against the grain. There is power in numbers and that is the power you will gain from being in a support group that not only encourages you to make healthy choices, it will teach you how to make those choices. You will be sharing recipes, ideas, and you will develop friendships as you work toward mutual goals. Hopefully, this will be an ongoing group that will change the way many look at food.
As Fuhrman says, it is fun, exciting, and rewarding to improve your health through nutrition and healthful lifestyle. In reading reviews of Fuhrman’s books, including EAT TO LIVE, are these comments. Perhaps they will trigger a reaction in you—one that may motivate you to join this support group and start to change your life. These are the comments:
Most Americans are not aware that the diet they feed their children guarantees a high cancer probability down the road. They don't even contemplate that eating fast–food meals may be just as risky (or more so) than letting their children smoke cigarettes.î
ìBoth patients and physicians act as though everyone's medical problems are genetic, or assumed to be the normal consequence of aging. They believe that chronic illness is just what we all must expect. Unfortunately, the medical-pharmaceutical business has encouraged people to believe that health problems are hereditary and that we need to swallow poisons to defeat our genes. This is almost always untrue. We all have genetic weaknesses, but those weaknesses never get a chance to express themselves until we abuse our body with many, many years of mistreatment. Never forget, 99 percent of your genes are programmed to keep you healthy. The problem is that we don’t let them do their job.î
ìThe modern food and drug industry has converted almost the entire modern world to a new religion—a massive cult of pleasure-seekers, consuming coffee, cigarettes, soft drinks, candy, chocolate, alcohol, processed foods, fast foods and concentrated dairy fat (cheese) in a self-indulgent orgy of destructive behavior, who believe that medications are their saviors for every resultant medical disaster. When the inevitable result of such bad habits appears—pain, suffering, sickness, and disease, the addicted cult members drag themselves to physicians and demand drugs to alleviate their pains, mask their symptoms, and cure their diseases. These revelers become so drunk on their addictive behavior and the accompanying addictive thinking that they no longer can tell the difference between health and health care.î
I encourage you to move past herd thinking and join this group which will empower you to think outside the box and take charge of your health and your life. You will be helping each other. If you are hooked on processed and fast foods containing mostly sugar, bad fats, white flour, high fructose corn syrup, and addictive chemicals, you will likely go through withdrawal when you clean up your eating. A support group can help you get through the rough times. Then your taste will change and you will enjoy the great taste of whole real food; you will get in touch with your body and actual hunger; you will lose your taste for destructive food imposters that make up your diet today.
Call or email me today and I will put your name on the list. Kathy will call you and determine the most convenient time to meet. Take this important step to create the life you want. Call 501-365-3434 or cell 501-691-1006. Put an end to dieting forever by getting rid of your addictions. You can do it; surprise yourself!
