The Kinder Morgan Foundation recently announced a technology grant for Heber Springs High School. The school’s eligibility is due to its proximity to Kinder Morgan’s partnered project, the Fayetteville Express Pipeline. Faculty and students collaborated on the grant application submission in late 2010.
The $4,990 grant will be used by the school for the purchase of Apple iPads for their English Department.
“We are again pleased to be partnering with Heber Springs High School to make sure young people have every opportunity to excel in both vocational and classroom settings,” said Allen Fore, Director of Community Relations for Kinder Morgan.
The Fayetteville Express Pipeline donated surplus pipe to Heber Springs High School for use by student welders in October 2010.
“We at Heber Springs High School are pleased to accept this grant award,” said Dr. Ginger Wallace, Principal of Heber Springs High School. “Implementing a technology based English course will be an exciting venture, one that we would not have been able to do without the help of this grant. We are looking forward to continued partnership with the Kinder Morgan Foundation.”
The Kinder Morgan Foundation supports nonprofit youth programs that focus on education, the arts and the environment. Every year, grants support thousands of youth in communities large and small across North America.
