Greers Ferry residents and officials remembered former Greers Ferry Police Chief and Mayor Bob Paschall recently with the dedication of the Bob Paschall Playground at the city park. He lived in Greers Ferry for 26 years, serving on the police department from 1982 to 1997, as mayor from 2003 to 2006, and was a volunteer with Greers Ferry EMS. Paschall died June 5, 2007.
“The city celebrated the dedication of the Bob Paschall Playground with a ribbon cutting ceremony and the presentation of a new American Flag by the Greers Ferry/ Heber Springs and Hot Springs chapters of Woodmen of the World,” said Mayor Steve Jones.
“The Greers Ferry Fire Department had fire prevention packets for the children and the Greers Ferry Police Department finger printed the children using the Child Safe Kits.”
Jones said hamburgers, hot dogs, cold drinks, and slush puppies were served. The children also enjoyed candy. “The new police and fire vehicles were also on display.
“Everyone was able to see the park improvements including the walking trail and playground equipment. A good time was had by all.”
