The Ann Dallas Scholarship Award was established in 2006 by the St. Albert's Ladies Auxiliary as a way to honor the youth of our parish. Ann served as a sacristan for St. Albert's Parish for over 30 years and was a loyal member of the Auxiliary. Ann's quiet, faithful service to her parish was an inspiration to all who knew her. The $1000 Scholarship in her name is awarded to the graduating senior who shares the same spirit of service and commitment to their faith.

The Scholarship Committee scores the applications on the student's community service, school activities, and their participation in church activities. An important part of the application process is the interview where the student answers questions about how and why they value their Catholic faith and their expectations of how their faith will enrich their future.

The winner of this year's Ann Dallas Scholarship Award is Daisy Leal.

Daisy has been a member of St. Albert's since she came to Heber Springs in 2006. She is the daughter of Reyna and Ruben Leal. She graduated from Heber Springs High School and has been accepted at ASU - Heber Springs where she plans to study Business and Real Estate.

During her high school years, Daisy was a member of the science club, drama club, art club, FCCLA and participated in soccer and bowling. Daisy participated in several community activities. She is a regular volunteer at Breaking Bread. She has walked dogs and donated dog food to our local Humane society and she has worked at the Greer's Ferry Lake Clean Up. Through St. Albert's youth group, Daisy has tutored at the Arkansas Dream Center and taught at our vacation Bible school.

In her letters of recommendation, Daisy is described as a caring young woman that takes her responsibilities seriously. She is compassionate for other people and it reflects in her daily life. Daisy has made everyone at Heber Springs High School proud to call her one of our own.

“Daisy is a hard worker and faithful to her church, she never hesitates to offer her assistance to anyone who needs it."

We at St. Albert's are privileged to have watched Daisy grow up. It is now our honor to wish her well in her college career and in her future life. The Ladies Auxiliary takes great pride in bestowing this Scholarship Award on Daisy Leal.
