Meetings
 Wednesday Readers to Meet
The Wednesday Reader's Book Club will meet in the library March 11 at 11 a.m. to discuss Suite Francaise by Irene Nemirovsky.  Anyone interested in joining the book club may stop by the library for more information.
Friends of the Library to Meet
The March meeting of the FOL will be held at the library at 1 p.m. March 12.  Anyone interested in attending the meeting is welcome.
Humane Society to Meet
The Heber Springs Humane Society General Membership meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 19, at 7 p.m.  The meeting will be held at the Municipal Building.
Care Cap Meeting
Community sew-in for cancer meets Tuesday, March 10, 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m., First Electric Cooperative. Public encouraged to help. Fabrics and sewing machines provided. No experience necessary. Garments go to our local hospital for women in chemotherapy.
DAR to Meet
The Little Red River Chapter NSDAR will meet at Fairfield Bay on March 13.  The meeting will be held at the Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church at noon.  The program "Patriotism" will be given by Fern Taylor, Past State Regent. Hostesses are Betty Cruise and Fairfield Bay members. For more information please call Lois J. Rickman at 362-5270.

Bingo at St. Albert Church on March 7.  Come to 21 Park Road in Heber Springs and enjoy the fun and fellowship.  Games begin at 5:30 p.m. Concession stand is available.  Must be 18 to play.  Proceeds go toward building a new church.  Good payoffs. Good luck to all.
 DivorceCare Support Group
DivorceCare support group meetings are being held each Thursday night from 6-8 p.m. at Lone Star Baptist Church in Greers Ferry (350 Lone Star Lane).  Childcare is available.  Meetings are open to all the surrounding community.  If you would like more information contact Rondal Richardson at 501-206-9064.
Lenten Season Celebration
Stations of the Cross will be celebrated each Friday at 3 p.m. during the Lenten season at St. Barnabas Anglican Church 509 West Main, Heber Springs. 501.362.6700
Sweet Sound of Praise
Sweet Sound of Praise will be held Saturday, March 14, at Corner Stone Full Gospel Church on Wilburn Road in Heber Springs. Come join them for a mix of bluegrass, country gospel, and southern gospel picking and singing. This group includes Larry Dillon, Udean Dillon, Gentry Hipp, Sue Jones, and Mark Jones, the son of Grandpa Jones. For more information, call 362-8219.
Bible Class
Don't Know Much About the Bible? Wear your jeans and come to a casual, no-pressure Sunday morning class especially for those who feel they don't know much about the Bible. The class is led by Pastor Dennis Powell and meets at 9:50 am every Sunday through April 12. Some of the class topics include: A Phone Number and a Song, Weird Stories, Saints are Sinners, and more! Revival
Friendship Community Church (Dry Mountain Road between Wilburn and Ida) will be having a Revival beginning Thursday evening, March 5 and concluding Sunday morning, March 8.  Brother Terry Mote will speak Thursday at 7 p.m.; Brother Steve Jones will speak Friday at 7 p.m.; Brother Jr. Roland will speak Saturday at 7 p.m. and Pastor Samuel Wildmon will conclude on Sunday morning at 11 a.m.

Donkey Basketball
Pangburn FBLA is sponsoring a donkey basketball game Friday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. Students will be competing with the adult team. Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door and may be purchased from the high school office. Proceeds will help cover FBLA state conference expenses where 21 members will be participating in business related competitions. For more information, call 501-728-3513.
Heber Springs PTSO holds Kidfest
The Heber Springs PTSO will host a Kidfest on Saturday, March 7, from 12 p.m. -  3 p.m. at the Heber Springs P.E. Building. Each class participates with a booth set-up carnival style. The theme this year is "Hooked on Books"! There will be food, fun, and games. Please come and support the local schools!
Boot Drive

Run/Walk Clinic
Women Can Run walk/run clinic is held on Mondays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. at Heber Springs High School track.
Girl Scouts now delivering cookies
If you placed an order you should be getting them soon - If we missed you or you want more there will be booths set up at Wal-Mart on March 7 and 14 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Come by and support your local Girl Scout Troops.
Gospel Opry

Little Rock Bus Trip
The First Presbyterian Church, 1313 W. Pine St. Heber Springs, is taking a bus trip to Little Rock, Friday, March 6. They will leave the church at 8:30 a.m. to visit the Old State House and the Clinton Library. The cost is $12 (lunch on your own). Cholesterol Medication Seminar
A program on cholesterol medications are they worth the money will be presented by Lori Denton, RN, APN of the St. Bernards Senior Health Clinic on Friday, March 6, at 1 p.m. at Cleburne County Senior Center, 320 Trailwood Dr. in Heber Springs. The cost of cholesterol lowering medications are a burden to some older adults, leading some to wonder, "are they worth the money?" This program will show less expensive alternatives and whether the health benefits outweigh the cost. Don't miss this important health event! Cleburne County Extension Homemakers Training
The EHC will have a training class on “Identity Theft and Scams.”  The class will be on Tuesday, March 10 at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian in Heber Springs. Everyone is invited.
