Camping Club to Meet
All persons interested in joining a camping club, the Sugarloaf Sams Chapter of the Good Sams Club will meet Wednesday, April 22, at 11 a.m. for a Dutch-treat luncheon at Mack’s Fish House in Heber Springs.  For further information call (501) 362-2054.”
Audubon to Meet
The Little Red River Audubon Society will meet Tuesday, April 28, at 7 p.m. at Indian Hills Country Club, 337 Snead Drive in Fairfield Bay. The topic will be about bats with the program by Kathryn Tidwell, interpreter from Woolly Hollow State Park. Conservation Board to Meet
The Cleburne County Conservation District Board meets Monday, April 27, at 4:30 p.m. in the district office at 110B Tulaka Boulevard in Heber Springs. Everyone is invited to attend this meeting.
Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group to Meet
Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group-Heber Springs chapter meets the 1st Tuesday each month, 6:30 pm at Red River Physical Therapy in the Cornerstone Square Building.  Respite care is available during the meeting. Contact Wendy 362-7025 for more info.
Al-Anon to Meet

Weight Watchers to Meet
Weight Watchers meets Tuesdays at the Tea Room. Weigh in is at 4:30 p.m. Meeting starts at 5:30 p.m.
Domestic Abuse Support Group
A support group is offered for those who are or have experienced domestic abuse. Members sit back and listen or join in conversation. A confidentiality agreement is signed at each meeting. The group meets every first and third Monday night at 5 p.m. Babysitter is available upon request. Call 362-6757 for details.
Daisy Patch Quilters to Meet

BHMC-HS Auxiliary to Meet
Baptist Health Medical Center-Heber Springs Auxiliary meets the third Tuesday of each month at 2:30 p.m. in the hospital cafeteria. Hope Lutheran Pig Roast
The Annual Dale Johnson Memorial Pig Roast, Sponsored by Hope Lutheran Church, 14000 Eden Isle Pike, Heber Springs, will be held in their parish hall Saturday, May 2nd, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 pJm. Adults $8.00, Students $4.00 ages 12 years to 5 years, under 5 free. All you can eat includes pulled pork, baked beans, slaw, potato salad, dessert and drink. Tickets may be purchased in advance from church members or at the door. Walk-ins are welcome. Matching fund from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be received and fund to be applied toward the Building fund of Hope Lutheran. Come and enjoy.
Gospel Singing
Greers Ferry Missionary Baptist Church, 34 Park Lane in Greers Ferry, would like to invite everyone to a good ole gospel singing on Sunday, April 26, at 2:30 p.m. The group Heaven's Echoe's from Plumerville. Come join in for an afternoon of good gospel singing and good fellowship. Bring a friend also.

There will be a gospel singing at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Concord, Hwy. 87 south, on April 25 at 7 p.m. with the Magness Trio of Heber Springs performing. All are welcome.
Gospel Singing
First Baptist Church Sugar Loaf, located at 557 Hwy. 337, Higden, is hosting a non-denominational gospel singing at 7 p.m., April 24.  Everyone is welcome and anyone may participate in "special music" (songs, instrumental, etc.) after the congregational songs.  A potluck will follow.
Homecoming
Homecoming at Wilburn Community Church (across from Pam's Pit Stop on Hwy 110 East in Wilburn) will be Sunday April 26, regular service 9:45, worship service 11:30, potluck 12:30. The Representatives will be in concert at 1:30. Everyone is welcome, Please join in.
DivorceCare Support Group
DivorceCare support group meetings are being held each Thursday night from 6-8 p.m. at Lone Star Baptist Church in Greers Ferry (350 Lone Star Lane).  Childcare is available.  Meetings are open to all the surrounding community. Community Garage Sale
A community garage sale will be held at the Fairfield Bay Senior Center on May 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Hurry and get your table rented now. $10 for small table; $15 for large table. Come by the Senior Center any day between Tuesday and Friday 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. or call 884-7800.
Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration will be held May 8 at Heber Springs Elementary School Library. You may choose a session to attend, 9 – 10 a.m. or 1 – 2 p.m. (You will need to attend the entire hour. Each session promptly begins at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Activities are planned for the hour session for the children enrolling for kindergarten. Please bring your child's shot record, birth certificate, and social security card. If you do not have these, please attend anyway and complete our paperwork.

Boston Butt Roasts
Once again, Heber Springs Rotary Club will be selling smoked Boston Butt Roasts.  Each roast will cost $30.  All profits will be used to fund college scholarships for worthy high school students of Heber Springs.  A smoked Boston Butt Roast makes a wonderful meal.  Roasts will be ready for pick up on Saturday, May 2, at 9 a.m.  To order a smoked Boston Butt Roast call 501-362-6018, see any member of Heber Springs Rotary Club (while quantities last).  Don’t wait too long, or they’ll all be gone!
Beginner Fly Tying Class
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers William Carl Garner Visitor Center is offering a free beginner fly tying class on Tuesday, May 5, from 4 – 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the William Carl Garner Visitor Center.  The class is available to those ages 12 and older and a limit of 15 participants will be allowed. You must pre-register for this event by calling the William Carl Garner Visitor Center at 501-362-9067. Other upcoming free fishing seminars for 2009 will be held at the William Carl Garner Visitor Center and are scheduled as follows: June 20-Beginner Fly Fishing from 10 a.m. – noon; July 18-Basic Trout Fishing from 10 a.m. – noon; August 1-Intermediate Trout Fishing from 10 a.m. – noon. All seminars are co-sponsored by the William Carl Garner Visitor Center, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Aquatic Resources Education Program. The William Carl Garner Visitor Center is located at the west end of the dam on Hwy 25, north of Heber Springs.  The Visitor Center is open Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  All programs are free and open to the public. 
Earth Day Event
USDA/Rural Development, Congressional and Tumbling Shoals Public Water Authority officials are having an Earth Day 2009 event at the Carl Garner Visitor's Center at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 24.  Possible project funding for an addition to the Tumbling Shoals system will be discussed. The public is invited.
Yard/Bake Sale
American Legion Auxiliary is holding a yard/bake sale Saturday, April 25, from 8 a.m. – noon at the American Legion Post 49 Park Rd. Proceeds will go to the scholarship fund.
Plant Sale
The Cleburne County Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale on Saturday, April 25, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the parking lot of First Arkansas Bank & Trust which is located on Hwy 25B, next to Sonic and across from the Post Office. Available will be an assortment of shrubs, perennials, annuals, and assorted gardening supplies. Come early for best selection. A rain date has been set for Saturday, May 2.
Mt. Zion Cemetery Workday

HOSA Yard Sale
Quitman HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) will be having a giant yard sale at the Quitman High School Campus on April 25, from 8 am to 1 pm. This will be a huge event, with appliances, furniture, clothes, and household items. Proceeds will be used to send students to the HOSA National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. Spaghetti Supper
The Cove Creek/Pearson Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will host a spaghetti supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 25. The station is located on Hwy 16 West, between Gateway Country Junction and Cove Creek Grocery.  Although prices have increased the cost remains the same: $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 -12 and free for children under 6.  Vegetarian sauce is available upon request.
Science Fair
West Side will be having their science fair Thursday, April 30, from 6-7 p.m. for grades 4-6.  Please come by and look at all the creative projects.
Bull Buck
A bull buck will be held April 24 at 8 p.m. at the Cleburne County Fairgrounds, 880 Bittle Road in Heber Springs. Admission is $5. All proceeds to benefit Cleburne County 4-H.
Master Gardener Plant Sale
The Cleburne County Master Gardeners will hold their annual Spring Plant Sale on Saturday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Master Gardener Greenhouse located in Heber Springs at 725 South 4th Street back behind the City Sanitation property.  There will be signs pointing out the directions off HWY 25 near Lathrop’s Nursery and down South 4th Street too.  A variety of both indoor and outdoor plants will be offered as well as demonstrations, educational information and information on “How to become a Master Gardener”. So come join the Master Gardeners on May 2 for a day of activities, education and information and buy some plants as well. For additional information contact the Extension Office at (501) 362-2524.
Brucellosis Vaccinations
It’s time to conduct the Spring Brucellosis Vaccination program. Four  to 12-month-old heifer calves will be vaccinated. There is no charge for this vaccination. If you would like to schedule your vaccinations or for more information please call the County Extension Office at 362-2524 by April 23.
Volunteer Social
Volunteers, family, friends are invited to Southridge Village Nursing and Rehab, 400 Southridge Pkwy in Heber Springs, on April 22 from 2-4 p.m. for a volunteer social.
Bingo
The American Legion #64 will have bingo every Friday at 6:30 p.m. and every Monday at 6:30 p.m.
Gentle Yoga Class
A gentle yoga class for cancer patients, survivors, and their family members will be held at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. This is a free class that will be held every Monday and is appropriate to all levels of ability. The focus will be on the breath and gentle, relaxing poses to promote stress relief and help lessen pain and nausea. Line Dance
Beginner classes meet Mondays, 5:15 p.m., in the Community Room at First Electric; Tuesdays, 5:45 p.m. at Rose Bud Community Center; Wednesdays, 9 a.m., at St. Albert's Catholic Church, and 5:30 p.m. at Quitman City Hall; and Thursdays, 9 a.m., at Rose Bud Community Center.  No dues, fees, or experience necessary.  For more info, call 501-230-3603 or 901-412-5153. 
Nicholas Project
The Nicholas Project, which makes clothes for pre-mature babies, meets the 2nd Thursday of every month from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. We need volunteers! We have some sewing machines as well as patterns and fabric. For questions and location call Eloise Bittle at (501) 362-3231.
Heber Folklore Society Dance
