CC Conservation District to Meet
The Cleburne County Conservation District board meets Monday, March 23, at 4:30 p.m. in the district office at 110B Tulaka Boulevard in Heber Springs. Everyone is invited to attend.
League of Women Voters Meeting
The Fairfield Bay Member-at-large League of Women Voters meeting scheduled for March 12 has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 26, at 1 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Edgemont due to weather conditions. There are decisions and plans to make for the convention near the end of April. Please try to be present.
NARFE to Meet
The monthly meeting of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees will be held on March 20, hosts for the potluck luncheon will be Kay and Paul Beaton. Audubon Society to Meet

Garden Club to Meet

CAPCA Governing Board to Meet
The CAPCA governing board will meet Tuesday, March 24, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Administrative Office, which is located at 707 Robins Street, Suite 118, Conway. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss program updates, committee reports, and funding proposals. CAPCA serves Cleburne, Faulkner, and White Counties in Arkansas.

Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group to Meet
Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group-Heber Springs chapter meets the 1st Tuesday each month, 6:30 pm at Red River Physical Therapy in the Cornerstone Square Building. Respite care is available during the meeting. Contact Wendy 362-7025 for more info.
Domestic Abuse Support Group
A support group is offered for those who are or have experienced domestic abuse. Members sit back and listen or join in conversation. A confidentiality agreement is signed at each meeting. BHMC-HS Auxiliary to Meet

Dramatic Musical to be Performed
A dramatic musical production called "The Choice" is being performed at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Heber Springs. The one-hour production is a love story about a young Roman solider who falls in love with a beautiful Jewish girl. He finds he has to choose between her (the absolute love of his life) and his life long goal to be the Centurion for the court of Pontious Pilot. Don't miss this intriguing way of portraying the Easter Story. Bring your family, your friends, your church... you won't want to miss this experience. The church is located on Tulaka and Atoka Rd - just past Ortega's Mexican Restaurant.

Helping Hands Fundraiser
The ladies of Helping Hands of Drasco are joining with United Portraits in raising funds to help others. The picture is an 8x10 and is set at a time and date comfortable for you with the studio. There is no setting fee and props are available for use. You may buy your coupon from any of the ladies of Helping Hands through Drasco General Baptist Church. Remember one per household, but you can buy for others they just have to have their names down and be there. 18 years and older for couples. Remember Prom, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day and while times are hard, they’re always harder for someone else. Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 11, at 11 a.m. will be the date of the annual Greers Ferry Optimist Club Easter Egg Hunt. It will be held at the City Park in Greers Ferry. All children sixth grade and under are encouraged to attend and hunt Easter eggs. It promises to be a great event.
Special Singing
Flat Rock General Baptist Church will have Cary Cox and the musicians from Celebration Church in Conway Sunday night, March 22, at 6 p.m. On March 29 Kirk Hardy and the singing/musician ladies from Shirley will be here to minister the word in sermon and song. ISM Project 09
April 2-4 will be the ISM Project 09 at First Assembly of God in Heber Springs. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the project will begin at 6:30 p.m. There will be free food each night and lots of giveaways. Jacob Jester will be speaking with the band Time of Favor in concert to follow. This is an outreach of Intense Student Ministries for ages 13 to college age. AARP Driver Safety Program
There will be an AARP Driver Safety Program class, for persons 50 and older, on Friday, March 20. The class will meet at the NEW Arkansas State University, Heber Springs campus, Administration/Student Services Building. The entire campus is SMOKE FREE. The 4-hour course starts at 8:30 AM and ends at 12:30 PM. Individuals age 55 and older qualify for a 3 year discount on their automobile insurance. The cost is $12 for AARP members (must bring card to verify membership) and $14 for non-members. Fee may be paid in cash or by check (payable to AARP). To reserve a place, call ASU at 362-1273.
Run/Walk Clinic
Women Can Run walk/run clinic is held on Mondays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. at Heber Springs High School track.
Red Barn Events
As of March 16, the Red Barn will be closed on Tuesdays and open on Mondays. A chili jam fest will be held March 21 from 3-10 p.m. Mardi Gras night will be March 28 from 7-10 p.m. There will be DJ music. Thursday night is Karaoke night at the Red Barn from 7-10 p.m.
Sugarloaf Talent Contest
The Sugarloaf Talent Contest will be held Saturday April 18, at 3 p.m. at ASU-Heber Springs. Hosted by Gamma Beta Phi Chapter of ASU Heber Springs, the contest benefits Heifer International. Celebration for Rex Harral Birthday
A celebration for Rex Harral's 90th birthday will be held at the Community Church in Wilburn on Saturday March 21, 2:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and celebrate Rex's 90th birthday and his sister Reta's 85th birthday.
Boy Scouts Collect Food
Heber Springs Boy Scouts of America Troop 200 will distribute plastic bags on doorknobs around town to collect food for the hungry in Cleburne County on the evening of Tuesday, March 31 to be picked up on the evening of Thursday, April 2. They appreciate you helping these young men “do a good turn” for their community.
Fairfield Bay Theater
“On Golden Pond" will be presented by Stas' Productions at the VFW Hall # 4513 on Highway 330 South on the following dates. March 19, 21, 24, 28 at 6 p.m. and March 22, and 29 at 1 p.m. This is a show only production (Not a dinner theater). Gental Yoga Class
A gental yoga class for cancer patients, survivors, and their family members will be held at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. This is a free class that will be held every Monday and is appropriate to all levels of ability. The focus will be on the breath and gentle, relaxing poses to promote stress relief and help lessen pain and nausea. Short Story Writing Contest
Cleburne County Writers Guild, which meets from 6 to 8 p.m. every second Monday at the Heber Springs City Municipal Building on Main Street, is sponsoring a short story writing contest. Eligibility: Cleburne County residents, over 18 years of age. Winners (1st - 3rd place) will receive monetary recognition. Deadline for postmark: on or before June 1. Guidelines and rules may be picked up at one of the following businesses: Cleburne County Historical Society or library.

A gun show will be held at the White County Fairgrounds in Searcy March 21-22 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday. There will be guns, knives, and ammo, new and used rifles, shotguns, and handguns. Come out and buy, sell, or trade.
Free Classes

Cops that Care Charity Scramble
The first Sheriff Moss Cops that Care Charity Scramble will be held Friday, April 3, at 1 p.m. with shotgun start (possible 8:30 a.m. flight depending on number of teams). Special guest will be former PGA tour player and 2007 US Senior Amateur Champion Stan Lee. This four-person scramble will be held at Red Apple Inn & Country Club in Heber Springs and will be benefiting the children at the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches.
Junior Spring Livestock Show
The North Central Arkansas District Junior Spring Livestock Show will be April 2 and 3, at the Izard County Fairgrounds at Melbourne. The horses will show at 7 p.m. on Thursday night and the sheep and goats will show 2 p.m. and cattle will show at 4 p.m. Check in time for the goats and sheep will be 12 p.m. and cattle check in will be at 2 p.m. The entries are due March 23 and late entries will be accessed double fees. Please see your board member or the extension office in your county for entries forms.
Nicholas Project

Jackson Hewitt Tax Service and Cleburne County Cares have teamed up to provide “Food For The Hungry” in the community. Donate 10 non-perishable food items at your local Jackson Hewitt tax office located at 906 Hwy 25B North Business in Heber Springs March 23-April 3 and you will receive a coupon for a $25 discount off tax preparation and Jackson Hewitt will match your donation item for item. If you already had your return prepared this year, you will receive a coupon good for next year.
Bone Marrow Drive
A national bone marrow drive for Roger B. Barnett this Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at The First United Methodist Church, 1099 W. Pine Street Heber Springs. Take 10 minutes to become a donor and save a life. Mouth swab only. Free testing for police officers, firelighters, postal employees, college students and all minorities. There is a $25 testing fee for anyone not included in the above list. All donors must be between the ages of 18-60 and in fairly good health. Monetary donations may also be made to any First Security Bank in Arkansas under the Roger Barnett Leukemia Donor Drive. All donations are tax deductible.
