Al-Anon to Meet

Domestic Abuse Support Group
A support group is offered for those who are or have experienced domestic abuse. Members sit back and listen or join in conversation. A confidentiality agreement is signed at each meeting. The group meets every first and third Monday night at 5 p.m. Babysitter is available upon request. Call 362-6757 for details.
Humane Society to Meet
The Heber Springs Humane Society General Membership meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 15, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Municipal Building.
Daisy Patch Quilters to Meet

Wednesday Readers to Meet
The Wednesday Reader's Book Club will meet in the Library January 14 at 11 a.m. to discuss The Many Lives and Secret Sorrows of Jospehine B by Sandra Gulland. Anyone interested in joining the Book Club may stop by the Library for more information.
DAR to Meet
The Little Red River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet on Jan. 9. The meeting will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Heber Springs at noon. CAPCA Governing Board to Meet
The CAPCA governing board will meet Tuesday, January 13, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at city hall in Beebe, located at 321 N. Elm St. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss program updates, committee reports, and funding proposals. CAPCA serves Cleburne, Faulkner, and White Counties in Arkansas.

Benefit Pageant
A benefit pageant will be held January 10 at 6 p.m. at the Concord School old gym for Concord senior Elizabeth Reed, daughter of Mitchell and Yolonda Reed. All proceeds to fund Elizabeth’s trip to Mayo Clinic. Miss Pageant Queen age divisions are as follows: 0-18 months; 19-24 months; 3-5 years; 6-9 years; 10-12 years; 13-15 years; 16-up; Entry Fee: $35. Photogenic: Additional $10. Line Dance
Beginner classes meet Mondays, 5:15 p.m., at Heber Springs City Hall; Tuesdays, 12:30 p.m., at the Methodist Church Family Life Center, and at 5:45 p.m. at Rose Bud Community Center; Wednesdays, 9 a.m. at St. Albert's Catholic Church, and at 5:30 p.m. at Quitman City Hall; and Thursdays, 9 a.m., at Rose Bud Community Center. AARP Driver Safety Program
There will be an AARP Driver Safety Program class, for persons 50 and older, on Friday, January 16. The class will meet at the NEW Arkansas State University, Heber Springs campus, Administration/Student Services Building. The four-hour course starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. Individuals age 55 and older qualify for a three year discount on their automobile insurance. The cost is $12 for AARP members (must bring card to verify membership) and $14 for non-members. Fee may be paid in cash or by check (payable to AARP). To reserve a place, call ASU at 362-1273.
EHC Training Class
The EHC will have a training class on “The Art of Applying Makeup and Appropriate use of Color.” The class will be on Tuesday, January 13, at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian in Heber Springs. Come and have fun with the Cleburne County Extension Homemakers Club.
