Domestic Abuse Support Group
A support group is offered for those who are or have experienced domestic abuse. Members sit back and listen or join in conversation. A confidentiality agreement is signed at each meeting. The group meets every first and third Monday night at 5 p.m. Babysitter is available upon request. Call 362-6757 for details.

Support Group to Meet
Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group-Heber Springs chapter meets the 1st Tuesday each month, 6:30 pm at Red River Physical Therapy in the Cornerstone Square Building. Respite care is available during the meeting. Contact Wendy 362-7025 for more info.
Lions to Meet
The Liberty Tax Service will present a program to the Heber Springs Lions on Tuesday, January 20. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. and will be at Michael’s Restaurant. All members are urged to attend to learn of new tax laws.
Weight Watchers to Meet
Weight Watchers meets Tuesdays at the Tea Room. Weigh in is at 4:30 p.m. Meeting starts at 5:30 p.m.
BHMC-HS Auxiliary to Meet

Super Bowl Breakfast
A community-wide Super Bowl Breakfast will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at First Baptist Church in Heber Springs. The 2009 Athletes In Action Superbowl Breakfast will be hosted by Brent Jones, a three-time Super Bowl champion. Christian testimonies and inspiring messages will be shared by NFL stars including Bart Starr, Tony Dungy, Anthony Munoz, Derrick Brooks and LaDanian Tomlinson. The program will be aired live, via satellite, from Tampa Bay, Fla. The church is at 201 North 4th Street. Interested persons can obtain more information by calling Wilkinson at 362-8131.
Fat Tuesday Chili Supper
Holiday Hills United Methodist will celebrate Fat Tuesday, February 24, with their annual chili supper from 4-7 p.m. Tickets will be $5 for adults and $2.50 for children. There will also be take-out orders. Tickets can be obtained by calling the Church office at 825-7301 or from any member of the congregation. The following day, February 25 will be Ash Wednesday and there will services at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited.
Seventh-day Adventist Meeting Saturday Mornings
Heber Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church is now meeting at 9:30 every Saturday (Sabbath) morning. You are invited to come meet the new pastor, Tommy Blount, and stay for fellowship meal after services. The church is located at Hwy 110 West and Mt. Olive Road or call 825-7984 for directions.

Red Barn Dance Now Open
Four Nights A Week
The Red Barn is now open four nights a week. Join in for music and dancing at The Red Barn every Tuesday from 7 - 10 p.m., senior moments from 7-9 p.m. and open mic from 9 - 10 p.m., Thursday night from 7 - 10 p.m., is Karaoke night; Friday night from 7-10 p.m. is open mic and Saturday night from 7 to 10 p.m. is open mic. Musicians looking for a place to play, you are welcome at the Red Barn. Membership is $1 per year. There are potlucks once a month, cake walks, guest bands, a kid’s korner, and more.
Line Dance
Beginner classes meet Mondays, 5:15 p.m., at Heber Springs City Hall; Tuesdays, 12:30 p.m., at the Methodist Church Family Life Center, and at 5:45 p.m. at Rose Bud Community Center; Wednesdays, 9 a.m. at St. Albert's Catholic Church, and at 5:30 p.m. at Quitman City Hall; and Thursdays, 9 a.m., at Rose Bud Community Center. AARP Driver Safety Program
There will be an AARP Driver Safety Program class, for persons 50 and older, on Friday, January 16. The class will meet at the NEW Arkansas State University, Heber Springs campus, Administration/Student Services Building. The four-hour course starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. Individuals age 55 and older qualify for a three year discount on their automobile insurance. The cost is $12 for AARP members (must bring card to verify membership) and $14 for non-members. Fee may be paid in cash or by check (payable to AARP). To reserve a place, call ASU at 362-1273.

Pancake Breakfast
Holland Masonic Lodge in Quitman will have a Pancake Breakfast at the Lodge Hall in Quitman from 7 - 9 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 24. Everyone is invited. Donations will be appreciated.
Valentine Dinner
The Red Barn will hold a Valentine dinner on February 14 at 6 p.m. You will have your choice of either lemon pepper chicken breast topped with grilled onions or baked pork tenderloin topped with grilled onions. Both will be served with green beans, corn, dinner rolls, dessert, and drink. Tickets are $8 per person, $15 per couple and are available at the Red Barn, located at 1105 South Street in Heber Springs.
Adoption Benefit
The Nick and Ashley Adams adoption benefit will be held February 7 at 6 p.m. Pleasant Ridge General Baptist Church in Ida. Door prizes will be awarded. Chili supper is free, but donations will be accepted.
