The Heber Springs Humane Society General Membership meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 19, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Municipal Building.
DAR to Meet
The Little Red River Chapter NSDAR will meet at Fairfield Bay on March 13. The meeting will be held at the Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church at noon. BPW to Meet
Heber Springs Business and Professional Women will hold its’ March meeting on the 19th at 5:30 p.m. at the Housing Authority on Park and Spring Streets. Penny Choate-Collins, Attorney at Law, will be the guest speaker for the evening. Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group to Meet
Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group-Heber Springs chapter meets the 1st Tuesday each month, 6:30 pm at Red River Physical Therapy in the Cornerstone Square Building. Respite care is available during the meeting. Contact Wendy 362-7025 for more info.
Domestic Abuse Support Group
A support group is offered for those who are or have experienced domestic abuse. Members sit back and listen or join in conversation. A confidentiality agreement is signed at each meeting. The group meets every first and third Monday night at 5 p.m. Babysitter is available upon request. Call 362-6757 for details.
BHMC-HS Auxiliary to Meet
Baptist Health Medical Center-Heber Springs Auxiliary meets the third Tuesday of each month at 2:30 p.m. in the hospital cafeteria. Lions to Meet
Nevin Robbins will be the speaker for the Lions meeting on March 17. Robbins is a coordinator for Project 20/20 eyeglass recycling center in Memphis. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. at Michael’s Restaurant. Lions are urged to turn in completed cards for the TV auction at the meeting.

The Democratic Women of Cleburne County will hold their monthly meeting on Saturday, March 14 at 10 a.m. at the Municipal Building. Heber Springs Mayor Jackie McPherson will be the guest speaker.

Sweet Sound of Praise
Sweet Sound of Praise will be held Saturday, March 14, at Corner Stone Full Gospel Church on Wilburn Road in Heber Springs. Come join them for a mix of bluegrass, country gospel, and southern gospel picking and singing. Bible Class
Don't Know Much About the Bible? Wear your jeans and come to a casual, no-pressure Sunday morning class especially for those who feel they don't know much about the Bible. The Unlimited Realm Conference
International speakers, Damon Thompson and Karen Wheaton will be at The Church Alive on Friday, March 13 - Sunday, March 15, for the Unlimited Realm Conference. Love Caps Sew-in
On Tuesday, March 17, at 9:30 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 14000 Eden Isle Pike Heber Springs, the ladies of Hope Lutheran's Mary Circle are inviting friends in the community to come help cut and sew caps for friends that are undergoing chemotherapy or experiencing baldness. All hats will be given away free to friends that can use them. They will need some machines and sewing supplies. Materials will be furnished. Bring bag lunches, drinks will be furnished. Special Singing
The Seventh Day Worship Center at Concord will host a special singing at the unveiling of their baptistery mural this Sabbath Saturday, March 14. Regular services will be 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. with a fellowship meal at noon. Unvieling of the mural will be at 1:15 p.m. with artists Judy Gagner and Julie Lamons on hand. This will be followed by special music and congregational singing. Bring your special music and join in. Everyone welcome.

Dramatic Musical to be Performed
A dramatic musical production called "The Choice" is being performed at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Heber Springs. The one-hour production is a love story about a young Roman solider who falls in love with a beautiful Jewish girl. He finds he has to choose between her (the absolute love of his life) and his life long goal to be the Centurion for the court of Pontious Pilot. Don't miss this intriguing way of portraying the Easter Story. Bring your family, your friends, your church... you won't want to miss this experience. The church is located on Tulaka and Atoka Rd - just past Ortega's Mexican Restaurant.

Girl Scouts now delivering cookies

AARP Driver Safety Program
There will be an AARP Driver Safety Program class, for persons 50 and older, on Friday, March 20. The class will meet at the NEW Arkansas State University, Heber Springs campus, Administration/Student Services Building. The entire campus is SMOKE FREE. The 4-hour course starts at 8:30 AM and ends at 12:30 PM. Individuals age 55 and older qualify for a 3 year discount on their automobile insurance. The cost is $12 for AARP members (must bring card to verify membership) and $14 for non-members. Fee may be paid in cash or by check (payable to AARP). To reserve a place, call ASU at 362-1273.
Run/Walk Clinic
Women Can Run walk/run clinic is held on Mondays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. at Heber Springs High School track.
Red Barn Events
There will be a cake walk at the Red Barn on March 4 at 6 p.m. Starting Monday, March 16, the Red Barn will be open and there will be a St. Patrick’s Day party from 7-10 p.m. As of March 16, the Red Barn will be closed on Tuesdays and open on Mondays. A chili jam fest will be held March 21 from 3-10 p.m. Mardi Gras night will be March 28 from 7-10 p.m. There will be DJ music. Thursday night is Karaoke night at the Red Barn from 7-10 p.m.

The Social Security Offices in Conway and Searcy invite the public to come into the office on St. Patrick's Day to learn about the online services available at www.socialsecurity.gov. Boy Scouts Collect Food
Heber Springs Boy Scouts of America Troop 200 will distribute plastic bags on doorknobs around town to collect food for the hungry in Cleburne County on the evening of Tuesday, March 31 to be picked up on the evening of Thursday, April 2. They appreciate you helping these young men “do a good turn” for their community.
