Applications are now available for five $500 scholarships to be awarded in 2017 by the Cleburne County Extension Homemakers Council & Seven Springs Extension Homemakers Club.
Applicants who are graduating from high school this spring and continuing their education this fall or have two or more remaining semesters should apply for this scholarship.
This scholarship is open to current Cleburne County residents of any age who are planning to enroll in a course of study in the areas of home economics, medical, teaching, or agriculture. Applicants must have been a resident of Cleburne County for at least six months.
The scholarship may be used at an accredited two or four-year College, vocational-technical school, or university in the United States.
The scholarship is paid directly to the school for expenses incurred in achieving a higher academic status.
This is the 20th year that Cleburne County Extension Homemakers Council has offered scholarships to county residents. This is the first year that an individual club is sponsoring a scholarship. The same application form and guidelines apply to the scholarships offered by the Council and Club.
Application forms and brochure are available at the Cleburne County Cooperative Extension Service office, 2319 Highway 110 West, Suite D, Heber Springs (501-362-2524), local high school counselors or contact any Cleburne County Extension Homemaker Cub member.
The completed application and supporting documents should be mailed or turned in to the Cooperative Extension Service office by March 15, 2017.
