The residents of Belmont Acres started getting together around the Labor Day weekend about ten or twelve years ago.  It originally started on the Saturday after labor day to coincide with the cleanup of the lake. “Our neighborhood always participated in the cleanup and did our shoreline and the streets in the neighborhood. We began having the fish fry after the clean up.  It has always been hosted by Jackie and Sally Perkins. Every year except this year we ate fish that Jackie caught. This year due to various problems Jackie has not been fishing so the fish were purchased. Over the years we have lucked out on the weather. I only remember one year that it rained. We were not deterred that year because we set up the tables in Jackie's garage.” said Sarah Carter, a retired doctor who lives in Belmont Acres.
