Last Monday evening the Heber Springs HIPPY program hosted the Superhero Science event at the Heber Springs Performing Arts Center.
Awesome Science is a well-known performance presented by the Museum of Discovery that has worked toward making science fun for kids and for their families.
Adam McEvoy, an educator from the Museum of Discovery in Little Rock, performed several demonstrations using liquid nitrogen, helium, and fire for the children who attended the event.
“We all learn about our world, solve problems, and answer question using facts and evidence” said Adam McEvoy.
The HIPPY Program is aimed to provide education for preschool and younger aged children to help prepare them for school.
Science is a major priority for in the HIPPY Program. Julan Wood, HIPPY Program Coordinator, has been working hard to bring educational events to Heber Springs. HIPPY survey’s state there is a demand for science for young children.
“It’s been so popular” said HIPPY Program Coordinator Julan Wood.
“Science is so important for our kids today” continued Wood.
The HIPPY Program plans to continue bringing events to Heber Springs that will provide fun filled entertainment while continuing to be educational for the youth in the community.
“Hopefully, my show helped spark the audience’s curiosity and it will encourage them to act like scientists in the future” said Adam McEvoy
