The Honor Guard and Color Guard of the American Legion Post 64, VFW, DAV and Auxiliaries were present on the bridge at the site of the swinging bridge in Heber Springs to perform a ceremony in honor of Pearl Harbor Day, December 7.

They marched up to the bridge with John Riggs, Veteran of World War II, who along with Wally Rosier, Adjutant for American Legion Post 64 and Ben England, Finance Officer for American Legion Post 64 threw a commemorative wreath into the Little Red River in memory of those lost on this day.

The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary President Nikki Hampton also threw in a wreath as did the DAV Auxiliary President.

There was a 3 round volley fired and the ceremony ended with State Bugler Michael Nuckolls playing Taps, who is also the District 5 VFW Commander.
