In the Wednesday, January 17 edition of The Sun Times, it was reported that deputies had recognized Ronald Long, Jr. in a green Ford Thunderbird during a traffic stop in Hopewell. The deputies placed Long and the other occupant in the vehicle in the back of a patrol car while they searched the vehicle. During this time, Long managed to escape on foot.

In a press release from Sheriff Chris Brown he stated that, “Ronald A Long, Jr. was captured this morning in a joint effort of Cleburne County Sheriff's Office, Probation/Parole Special Response Team and the U.S. Marshall's Office.” Long was charged with Possession of meth less than 2 grams, 3rd Degree escape, Fleeing, Theft, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of marijuana less than 2 grams.

This is the second arrest from the Wanted list by Sheriff Brown since the Lake Ice operation.
