The Heber Springs City Council is scheduled for their regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25 at City Hall.

Included in The Sun Times packet were the minutes and reports from the December meeting.

There is no old business listed but there are five items under new business. The first being the Resolution for Procedures for 2018 which will be discussed and voted on. The resolution includes the Patterns of Meetings and the time and location of regularly scheduled meetings which will be the Third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at City Hall. It also covered special meetings and committee meetings of Planning Commission and Advertising and Promotion to meet monthly as needed.

The resolution covers the order of meetings and responsibility of the Mayor, Council members and Department Heads, as well as the City Clerk. It also covers the forum section of the meeting where citizens can address the Council about a subject that is not on the agenda, This time period will be allotted as three minutes, individuals will be limited to three minutes.

To place an item on the agenda a City Council member or Department Head can request a matter be on the agenda by submitting title of the matter and a short, written summary and any supporting material to the Mayor’s office no later than 4:30 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the meeting.

Special meetings are covered as well as conduct of speakers. The last section covers conduct of council members.

In the packet was also an agreement between the City and the Cleburne County Aging Program which states the CCAP will enter an agreement with the City to perform services benefiting the senior citizens of the county. The wireless policy was also included in the packet.

City Council meetings are open to the public. Mayor Jimmy Clark will give the State of the City at the meeting as well.
