The Daisy Patch Quilters were one of 13 groups in Arkansas that participated in a National Sew-In for the Quilts Of Valor, on Saturday February 3. Nineteen members and friends spent the day sewing, cutting, and pressing red white and blue squares.

One quilt was completed with enough blocks and materials to complete 5 more quilts for Arkansas Veterans.

Participants were Jean Beisenstein, Gail Nelson, Sandy Burton, Sandy Blasingame, Pam Davis, Cindy Latting, Brenda Stewart, Gerry Shipley, Polly Reynolds, Jaquita Glenn, Linda Layton, Bonita Binschoder, Glenda Taylor, Wanda Boyd, Betty Williams, Loretta Simmons, Carolyn Watkins, Suzi Johnson, and Sandy Young.

They will continue to sew quilts for Quilts of Valor at the next Daisy Patch meeting, 10n a.m. on February 14,. at the Electric Co-Op building on Industrial Road in Heber Springs.  A veteran can be nominated to receive a quilt by visiting the Quilts of Valor Foundation web site; WWW.QOVF.org.
