On Friday evening approximately 6:00 pm. Heber Springs Fire responded to a report of an injured hiker. Units from Tumbling Shoals/Ida Fire Department, Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office, Army Corp. Park Rangers, NorthStar EMS, and Cleburne County Search and Rescue quickly located a subject approximately 150 feet down a steep and rocky ledge. All units performed a technical rope rescue that promptly packaged and transported the injured patient to safety. Today was another example of how multiple agencies must coordinate efforts in order to best serve our community. Heber Springs Fire would like to thank all of our cooperating agencies in assisting us with today’s rescue efforts.
