A now former Concord High School teacher has reportedly admitted to allegations of giving drugs to a student and having a sexual relationship with another.
Detective Kim Bettis with the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Department said a complaint was filed January 30 by the Concord School District with Detective Alan Roberson alleging Crystal Shipman, 25, gave an 18-year-old male student drugs and engaged in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male.
“An affidavit for a warrant for her arrest has been sent to the prosecuting attorney,” said Bettis.
The charges being sought are one count of sexual assault in the first degree, a class “A” felony, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor.
If convicted, Shipman could face six to 30 years in prison and/or up to $15,000 in fines on the felony charge. If convicted on the misdemeanor she could face up to a year in the county jail and/or fines of $445.
