The Heber Springs Police Department reported the following incidents for the week of Jan. 16 to Jan. 22, 2012:

On January 16, the police department received a report of a theft from a room at the Holiday Inn Express.  According to the report, the guest had $2300 in cash in an envelope in their room.  When they left, they packed the envelope and upon returning home, discovered the cash was missing.

On January 18, a 42-year-old white male was pulled over on Broadway for speeding.  Upon questioning the man and asking him to empty his pockets, the officer discovered a plastic bag containing marijuana.  The man was charged with misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Drivers License, Careless Driving, No Insurance, and Fictitious Tags.

On January 22, a resident on Beach notified police that their 2005 red Dodge Dakota had been stolen from their home.  Along with the truck theft, they also reported that the other vehicles on the property had been broken into and the suspect stole a wallet/purse, prescription medication, and an auto flash welding helmet.  A chainsaw was also reported stolen from the carport.
