Sandy Beach is the place for the Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce 2009 Fireworks Extravaganza. The festival will held on Saturday, July 4th. The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with live music. Fred Prentice and Friends will take the stage from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. The Imagine That Band featuring Glenn Parrish, Paige Tippett, and Peyton Loeschner will entertain from 7 - 9:15 p.m.
At 9:30 p.m., the skies will light up over the lake with a spectacular fireworks display choreographed to patriotic music put together by Pyro Shows of LaFollette, Tennessee and broadcast simultaneously over radio station KFFB 106.1 FM. Food vendors will be on hand to entice your taste buds. Patriotic red, white and blue tie-died t-shirts will be on sale along with glow-in-the-dark necklaces.
A $5 parking fee benefiting local service organizations will be charged at each location. Of course, the Sandy Beach area offers you a great view of the fireworks display from your boat on the beautiful Greers Ferry Lake but plan to come early if you want a great spot.
