Applications are now available for $500 scholarships to be awarded by the Cleburne County Extension Homemakers Council. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded this year.
Applicants who are just beginning their college education or have two or more remaining semesters should apply for this scholarship.
This scholarship is open to current Cleburne County residents of any age who are planning to enroll in a course of study in the areas of home economics, medical, teaching or agriculture. Applicants must have been a resident of Cleburne County for at least six months.
The scholarship may be used at an accredited two or four-year college, vocational-technical school, or university in the United States.
The scholarship is paid directly to the school for expenses incurred in achieving a higher academic status.
This is the thirteenth year that Cleburne County Extension Homemakers Council has offered scholarships to county residents.
Application forms are available at the Cooperative Extension Service office at 320 W. Main, Heber Springs, local high school counselors, or contact any Cleburne County Extension Homemaker Club member.
The completed application should be mailed or turned in to the Cooperative Extension Service office by March 15.
