Falon MacDonald and Kayley Holeman of Concord High School helped raise money and gather needed materials for the Independence County Humane Society. This project was part of the requirements of a Leadership and Service Learning class, which is taught by Kimberley Sartain.  Students demonstrate their leadership abilities by planning, organizing and implementing a community service project. The students worked to collect items such as towels, food bowls, and toys. They also collected several boxes of newspapers used to line animal cages. Earlier in the year, they held a car wash as well.   Their efforts helped to raise approximately $100.00, which was donated to the shelter.
