The Pangburn Police Department in conjunction with other state and local law enforcement agencies conducted a Safety Checkpoint on December 16.  The goal was to detect impaired drivers and also to educate and ensure compliance with seat belt, child safety, and other laws governing the operation of an automobile.  According to police, around 68 vehicles were processed through the checkpoint with no arrests made for DWI/DUI or other major traffic violations, though some citations were issued for minor offenses.  The operation was a cooperative effort between the Pangburn Police Department, Black River Tech Law Enforcement Training Center, White County Sheriff’s Office, and the Arkansas State Police.
