Heber Springs High School student Spencer Grogan recently received a Real Proud of Real Panthers award for outstanding achievement in and out of the classroom. He was one of six students honored before Heber Springs’ game against visiting Clinton on October 28.
Grogan is an accomplished scholar with a 4.0 GPA. An All-Region band and All-Region jazz band selection, Grogan has been a band member for six years. The trombone is his instrument of choice.
“Spencer is very conscientious,” says Traci Jernigan, Heber Springs Band Director. “He strives to improve every day.”
Grogan is also at home on the court, having played basketball for 10 years. He’s also an active member of the youth group at the First Assembly of God church in Searcy.
Grogan plans to attend college to pursue a degree in engineering.
He is the son of Jim and Brenda Grogan.
Students from the Heber Springs School District will be honored as a part of the Real Proud of Real Panthers student-recognition program throughout the state playoffs. On behalf of the Heber Springs office of Bank of Little Rock Mortgage, branch manager Tina Hendrix contributes $100 to the Heber Springs School District in the name of each Real Proud of Real Panthers award winner – for a season total of more than $1,500.
