A Chevy S-10 Blazer plummeted about 200 feet off Hiram Bluff around 8:35 p.m. Tuesday. Rescuers worked for over three hours to bring the man, reported to be suicidal, to the top of the cliff. Notice in this photo taken Wednesday morning the blue paint to the right. Also notice the fresh scrape marks. It appears the vehicle may have started to roll before taking flight.

A 40-year-old Quitman man attempted suicide Tuesday evening by driving over Hiram Bluff at Wilburn.
The man, reportedly distraught after a fight with his girlfriend, drove his S-10 Blazer off the bluff on Hwy 110 East between Wilburn and Pangburn.
Rescuers from Wilburn EMS/ Fire, Heber Springs Fire, Cleburne County Search and Rescue, Pine Snag Fire, and NorthStar EMS were called to the scene around 8:35 p.m. after someone reported hearing the man yelling from the vehicle.
He was loaded into an ambulance and hauled to a nearby helicopter around 12 a.m Wednesday.
