The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department was out early Friday putting down sand and using a snowplow to help clear roadways.

Although roads appeared somewhat safe Friday morning, the continual snow fall Friday morning and expected sleet during the day, will make roads more difficult to maneuver this afternoon and into the night.
