Calling the Rose Bud Lady Ramblers repeat champions doesn’t seem to do them justice. Five-peat could be used. Although at some point it seems more of a “pack” than a “peat” considering they have won five consectuive Greers Ferry Lake Classic titles. Call it the five-pack, five-peat or whatever, but it’s a sure bet Coach Mandy Goodwin enjoys packing the trophy case each holiday season.
On Friday, top-seeded Rose Bud won its 15th straight game in the annual tournament while pushing its overall record for the season to 12-1 with a 59-49 win over second-seeded Mount Vernon-Enola at Tiger Arena in Pangburn.

Rose Bud point guard Tori Willborg responded with a strong drive and finish in heavy traffic but Prowse and post player Hayley Brewer each made a free throw, giving the Lady Warhawks an 11-10 advantage going into the second quarter.
Brewer added another free throw early in the second quarter before Sartin found post player Madelyn Murphree inside for a bucket off a high-low play. Tied 12-all, MVE reclaimed the lead on two free throws from Prowse, who snatched an offensive rebound and drew a foul.
Rose Bud power forward Lauren Wynne fired back with a bucket from right block but MVE three-point specialist Sydney Davies popped a three-pointer from top of the key, pushing the Lady Warhawks back in front, 19-17.
The Lady Ramblers used a quick 6-0 run to reclaim the lead as Wynne scored deep in the paint off an assist from Kyndl Harlan, then Sartin drove right side for a layup and Harlan lobbed to Wynne for a bucket from right block.
With Rose Bud suddenly leading 23-19, Bartley came away with a steal and hit Davies for a fast-break layup, leaving the Lady Ramblers with a two-point halftime lead.

Rose Bud used a 4-0 spurt to take the lead as Sartin scored from right block off an assist from guard Alexis Jackson, then Jackson drove left side and hit an off-balance shot, giving the Lady Ramblers a 37-34 lead heading into the final eight minutes of play.

Sartin completed the Lady Ramblers’ devastating run with a putback but MVE stayed within striking distance as Bartley canned a three-pointer from right wing and guard Shanna Smith drove right side for a layup.
