The Community Action Program of Central Arkansas (CAPCA) has joined forces with Quitman EMS to make available $10,000 in scholarship money for EMT training. The money became available thru the ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act).
Eligible participants must live in White, Cleburne or Faulkner counties and must meet the income requirements set forth by CAPCA.
Five of the ten slots have already been filled and the remaining slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis so anyone who is interested in completing an application is encouraged to contact Brenda Holley at 501-206-2398. The class will begin on Monday, August 23 at 6 at the Quitman EMS building. Vickie Morgan will be the instructor. Anyone wishing to take the class without benefit of the scholarship should contact Vickie at 501-206-6030 to register.
