James Dean (J.D.) McCarty passed away January 21. 2017

James Dean (J.D.) McCarty, the son of Irvin Ralph McCarty and  Mabel Florence Clark McCarty, was born in Batesville, Arkansas on August 11, 1950 and passed away in Little Rock, Arkansas on January 21, 2017 at the age of 66 years.

He was a farmer and a ranch hand, living all his life in the Five Mile area of Drasco.  He was a member of Arbanna Baptist Church,  enjoyed roping and riding, working with cattle, coon dogs and coon hunting.  He enjoyed drinking coffee and swapping stories with his buddies at the feed store.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Mabel McCarty and a brother, Voye Erwin McCarty.  He is survived by his wife,   Karen Sue Oldham McCarty, four daughters, Teri Garza and husband, Hiram of Rockwall, Texas, Jessica Laws and husband, Kolumn of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Keri Foster and husband, Jimmy Wayne of Mountain View, Arkansas and Lindsay Reeves and husband, Blake of Johns Creek, Georgia; as well as one sister, Donna Chastain and husband, Bud of Drasco, Arkansas.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Kaitlyn Garza, Dylan Garza, Karliscia Laws, Jaylen Laws, Kaeden Laws,  Kyndal Laws, Sarah Reeves and Alex Reeves, and one great grandchild, Carter Sherman, besides other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were at Arbanna Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 2:00 PM and interment in Friendship Cemetery.
