Keith Joseph Harrer passed away January 27, 2017
Keith Joseph Harrer the son of Joseph Harrer and Ellen Faris Harrer was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on February 22, 1927 and passed away in Heber Springs, Arkansas on January 27, 2017 at the age of 89 years.
His was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Heber Springs and was a retired auditor. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and the United States Marines where he was awarded the Navy Cross, the Silver Star and a Purple Heart. He also was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the UN Service Medal and a Presidential Unit Citation. He was a member of the Legion of Valor, the American Legion and the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ellen Harrer and is survived by his wife Jennie M, Skilka Harrer of Heber Springs and a daughter Nancy Staggs of Heber Springs, five grandchildren Rachel Hall and husband Jason, David Staggs and wife Carla, Stephen Staggs and wife Karen, Sarah Summey and husband Shawn and Daniel Staggs, 14 great grandchildren besides other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be held in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. by Pastor Paul Fulks with full military honors provided by the United States Marine Corps and the American Legion Post 64 of Heber Springs.
