Denny Joe Treadway passed away March 30, 2017

Denny Joe Treadway of Greers Ferry, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at the age of 69. He was born October 7, 1947, the son of Jack Dempsey and Billie Jo Treadway.

Mr. Treadway was a 1965 graduate of Newport High School, and attended Arkansas State College and the University of Arkansas. He was a United States Army veteran, earning three Bronze Stars for his service in Vietnam.

Mr. Treadway worked at Revere Copper and Brass several years, and ran Service Master, a carpet and furniture cleaning service in Atlanta. He later worked in roofing until his retirement in 1994.

Mr. Treadway enjoyed sports, and was an avid Razorback fan, who also enjoyed collecting coins and playing chess. He especially loved his family, and time spent with them.

Mr. Treadway was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by four children, Trey Chance Treadway of Greers Ferry, Jacob Carlton Treadway of Greers Ferry, Amber Farabi Brinkley of Heber Springs, and Britt Nicole Treadway of Heber Springs; one brother, Larry Wayne Treadway and wife, Diane, of Batesville; one sister, Jackie Sue Treadway of Santa Barbara, California; five grandchildren, Keenan Brinkley, McKenzie Brinkley, Chloe Brinkley, Noah Treadway, and Olivia Derrickson; and his best friend and former wife, Margaret (Yarborough) Kilgore of Heber Springs.

Memorials services were Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation following.

Those honored to serve as honorary pallbearers were James Bud Summers, Bud Roland, Jim Bachelor, Spencer Slitzer, David Martin, and William Kilgore.
