Gerald L. Cunningham passed away March 30, 2017
Gerald L. Cunningham, 83, Indianapolis, Indiana and formerly of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away March 30, 2017. He was born in Steele, Missouri on January 4, 1934 to John Isaac and Ola (Couch) Cunningham. Gerald served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. After returning from Europe, he entered into the world of banking at West End Savings Bank in Richmond, IN, where he served until retiring as president in 1995. While in Richmond, he was active in the Lions Club, serving as president. Gerald was a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon. After retiring, he and his wife, Beatrice, moved to Heber Springs, Arkansas, where they lived for 21 years. In Heber Springs, Gerald was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. While there, he enjoyed golfing, playing cards, fishing, and boating.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Cunningham. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice (Hoy) Cunningham; sons, Tracey Cunningham and Scott Cunningham (Philana); his grandson, Graylan Cunningham; his sisters, Naomi Long, Kathleen Beck, and Geneva Ottinger (Ralph); his niece, Donna Jean Saffley (Charlie); his nephew, Terry Ottinger (Diane); and three great-nieces.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, Zionsville, Indiana.
