Ann Conerly Lewing passed away on July 3, 2017

Ann Conerly Lewing passed away on July 3, 2017.  She was born December 16, 1931 in Tylertown, Mississippi to Ethel and Ivan Conerly.  She attended Tylertown High School, graduating in 1949.  After receiving a BS in Home Economics from Louisiana State University in 1953, where she was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity, she worked for Louisiana Power and Light Company in New Orleans.  She married Hugh Lewing on August 9, 1958, and moved to Shreveport for his internship and residency.  In 1963, they moved to Ft. Smith, Arkansas, where they lived for 30 years.  Ann was a wonderful mother, fabulous cook and beloved bridge partner with her husband and friends.  She loved to travel with her family and handled the family finances, all while she actively participated in many clubs and her church.  She was President of Methodist Women and was a member of PEO and a church circle.  She and her husband moved to Heber Springs to retire in 1992.  She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Hugh; children Sarah Lewing Halford (Jeff), Emily Lewing Burrow (Jim), Hugh Lewing, Jr. (Juliet Ross), and Dr. David Lewing (Dr. Karen Beard): grandchildren Jeff, Jr., Janie, Mary and David Halford; James, Jr., Hugh, Oliver and Ann Adair Burrow; Conner and Joey Lewing; and Madeline and Claire Lewing.
    The Family sincerely appreciates the tenderness and care that Ann received at Southridge Nursing home, Heber Springs.  Also a special thanks to our friends, Marry and Garrel Weber.
A memorial service and visitation service were held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at First Methodist Church, Heber Springs.  She will be interred in Tylertown, Mississippi.  In lieu of flowers please make memorials to Tylertown United Methodist Church, 902 Beulah Ave, Tylertown, Mississippi 39667, First United Methodist Church, 1099 W.
