David Clemens Travis passed away August 3, 2017

David Clemens Travis the son of David Roy Travis and Una May Chrisman Childers was born in Ontario, Oregon on September 28, 1934 and passed away in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 3, 2017 at the age of 82 years.
David was a Retired Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy. He was the VFW Commander of the Disabled Veterans of America. He enjoyed salt water fishing, the coast and loved boats. He was a Patriot Builder and did mission work. He loved spending time with his family and all his children served in the United States Military.
He was preceded in death by his parents David Travis and Una May Chrisman Childers and the mother he was raised and loved by Mary Elizabeth Travis, who he called mom. He was also preceded by Rodney Travis, Michael Travis, Ruth Jones, Keith Jones and Larry Bourassa. He is survived by his wife Doris Virginia Alexander Travis of Heber Springs, sons Tim Travis and wife Sheila of Lake Dardanelle, Dannie Travis and wife Frances of Pee Ridge, Eddie Travis and wife Tammy of Quitman, Michael Bourassa and wife Twila of Pulaski, Florida Douglas Jones and wife Regina of Vilonia and Al Jones, brothers Roy Travis of Riggins, Idaho, and Jesse Travis of Whitebird, Idaho, sisters Lorraine James of Ontario, Oregon, Bessie Cullin of Whitebird, Idaho and Diane Patterson of Ontario, Oregon. Also survived by 22 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild besides other relatives and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday August 11, 2017, 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Family Funeral Service and the Funeral Services will be on Saturday, August 12, 2017, 11:00 A.M. in Family Funeral Service Chapel by Rev. Lloyd Blanton with interment in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. There will be full military honors presented by the United States Navy and American Legion Post 64 of Heber Springs.
