Davis I. "Mouse" Ramsey passed away September 13, 2017
Davis I. "Mouse" Ramsey, age 84, of Heber Springs, Arkansas passed away on September 13, 2017. Born on July 3, 1933 in Wilburn, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Treaber Lois and Leona Mae Davis Ramsey.
Davis was a loving son, brother, father, and grandfather. He was a graduate of Heber Springs High School in 1951 and went on to graduate from Arkansas State Teachers College in 1955 where he worked on the "Echo" and the yearbook, he was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma and was listed in the Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. Davis was a veteran of the United States Army. His friendly and outgoing personality made him a natural fit for the various sales positions he held throughout the years. He was a member of the South Crossroads Church and was also an avid reader, an accomplished square dancer and volunteered at the Cleburne County Historical Society .
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Bettye Smith Ramsey.
He is survived by his son Randy Ramsey and his wife Terri of Newport, Arkansas, his brother Jim Ramsey of Heber Springs, Arkansas, his nephew J.D. Ramsey and his wife Misty, his first wife Margaret Anne Roberts Ramsey, his grandchildren Lindley Pettie and her husband John, Gail O'Keefe and her husband Alex, Marc Harrison and Melissa Allen and her husband Brad, his great-grandchildren Mackenzie Murphy, Alice Pettie and Stella Blue Pettie and his faithful companion "Sophie". Mr. Ramsey is also survived by his other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Monday, September 18, 2017 with a memorial service beginning at 2:00pm at Olmstead Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Rolland, Jr. and Rev. J.D. Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Magness Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers are Employees of Southridge Village Nursing and Rehab, Sam Querry, Kent Latch, Buddy Phillips, Wendell Byrd, Jim Norman, Mickey Barnett, Bill Gresham, R.C. Coleman and Jerry Hughes.
Memorials may be made to Crossroads Community Church, the American Cancer Society and the Cleburne County Historical Society.
