Geraldine Elizabeth Edgar Rhodes was born October 3, 1936 in Castile, Pennsylvania to the late Edward and Sara Edgar of Jefferson, Pennsylvania. Geraldine was an only child, and she was a coal miner's daughter. She liked all sports, baseball being her favorite. She enjoyed pitching horseshoes, riding horses, playing bridge and bowling. She loved all people and liked camping and fishing. In her time in New Mexico, she discovered that she also liked the desert flowers of the cactus. She loved the beauty of Greers Ferry Lake.

Geraldine married John Clayton Rhodes May 2, 1957 at Jefferson, Pennsylvania. They moved to several different places, and she got to travel to different countries.

She was a member of the Pearson EHC for over 30 years, American Legion Post #64 for 26 years and the Cove Creek Pearson Fire Dept #624. Geraldine was a member of Sandia Baptist Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but attended Grace Baptist Church in Heber Springs, Arkansas.

Geraldine loved John, the love of her life, loved her children, but the grandchildren and great -grandchildren were so special to her.

Geraldine is survived by her husband of 60 years John Clayton Rhodes, son John Eddie (Lisa) Rhodes of Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas, daughter Susan (Joe) Ethridge of Woodbridge, Virginia and seven grandchildren, Michelle (Daniel) Graham, Sara (Mark) Williams, Lauren and Lindsey Ethridge, Hannah, Lexie, and Zach Rhodes, five great-grandchildren Ella and Clay Williams, Tanner and Ezekiel Graham, and John Joseph George. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 with Funeral Services on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Olmstead Funeral Home.
