Margaret Balentine, age 75, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away November 29 at Baptist Health Medical Center, Heber Springs. She was born October 21, 1942 in Heber Springs to Loy Lisle and Mildred (Swaffer)Fowlkes. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Arnold Fowlkes and one infant sister. Survivors are Edward Balentine, her husband of 57 years, one son, Charles Eric Balentine and wife Tonya of Mabelvale, Arkansas, one grandson, Ryan Parker Balentine; two step-grandchildren Haley Thomas and Micah Caldwell; and one brother Charles Frederick Fowlkes and wife Gloria,  of Quitman, Arkansas, and sister in law Martha Fowlkes of Quitman.

After graduating from Quitman school, she moved to North Little Rock where she worked for Home Insurance Co. for 25 years. Later returning to Quitman in 1999. She loved sewing and quilting, and taking care of her many plants and flowers.

A memorial service was held Sunday, December 3, at Palestine Baptist Church with Bro. Bennie Foster officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Palestine Baptist Church.
