Eugene Melvin Green, age 79, of Heber Springs passed away June 16, 2009 at White County Medical Center in Searcy. He was a retired auto worker and US Army Veteran. Born August 2, 1929 in Conway, he was the son of the late Sophronia Mar Spencer and William Henry Green.
Eugene worked for Ford Motor Company some 32 years before retiring and moving back to Heber Springs in 1984.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Sellers Green; a brother, Billy Green of Heber Springs and two sisters, Jetta Faye Jones of Conway and Wilma Walker of Heber Springs.
He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Elaine Gehringer and husband Jim of Collierville, Tenn.; one son, Steve Green of Heber Springs; four brothers, Herman Green and Dennis Greene of Heber Springs, Minor Greene of Pangburn and Charles Greene of Tumbling Shoals; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. June 19 at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens Cemetery with John Cates officiating.
